Itinerary

Arrival in Tanzania & Welcome

Your journey begins as you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport and are met by your guide. You are transferred to accommodation near Arusha, where the rest of the day is free for rest and preparation. This initial pause offers the chance to settle in and mentally prepare for your upcoming adventure across northern Tanzania’s diverse landscapes.

Wildlife of Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you travel to Tarangire National Park, famed for its vast savannah, impressive baobab trees, and large elephant herds. Upon entering the park you begin your safari drive, exploring open plains, riverine forests, and woodland areas that attract a rich variety of wildlife. Here you may encounter elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes and antelopes grazing or moving across the landscape, while predators and smaller mammals may lurk under shade or near water sources. The combination of ancient trees, the seasonal Tarangire River, and wildlife roaming freely makes for a classic and memorable start to your Tanzania Safari experience. After a full day of game-driving, you return to your accommodation for the night.

Lake Eyasi (Hadzabe & Datoga cultural visit)

This day is devoted to Lake Eyasi and the indigenous communities that live on its rim. You spend time with the Hadza — one of the last hunter-gatherer peoples on Earth — observing their foraging, hunting techniques, fire-making and language of clicks; you may try simple activities such as archery with their guidance. You also visit the Datoga, a neighbouring people known for pastoralism and traditional metalwork and leathercraft; here you can learn about their crafts, traditional herbal medicine, and purchase handmade items if you wish. This cultural day offers an intimate, respectful look at traditional lifeways that persist alongside Tanzania’s wild places.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area & Crater

Early departure maximises wildlife activity: after an early breakfast (or a packed breakfast), you drive to the Ngorongoro highlands and descend into the crater at about 7:00 AM. The crater floor supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife — buffalo, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and a range of predators — and is one of the most reliable places for consistent sightings on any Tanzania Safari. Lunch is taken by a lakeside or other scenic spot on the crater floor, after which you may continue wildlife viewing or begin the return drive to Arusha, depending on timing and preference. This day is the wildlife highlight of the itinerary and showcases the unique ecosystem of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Departure — Return from Safari

After breakfast the following morning you are transferred back to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight, concluding your short but varied Tanzania Globe Tour that combined Tarangire’s savannah, Lake Eyasi’s living cultures, and the Ngorongoro Crater’s dense wildlife.
