Itinerary

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Evening Game Drive

After an early breakfast, you will receive a briefing from your guide about the 3-day safari. You will then depart from your hotel and begin your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you will pass through Luwero town and stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Upon arrival, you will meet the site guide for a briefing before heading into the bush to search for the rhinos. The tracking experience will take approximately 3 hours. Afterward, you will have lunch before continuing on to Masindi town.

Next, you will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park and visit the top of the falls. This location offers spectacular views of the park and the falls, providing excellent photo opportunities. Following this, you will embark on an evening game drive, where you will encounter various animals as they hunt for food. After the evening game drive, you will return to the lodge for check-in, relaxation and an overnight stay.

Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Wake up early and have breakfast before setting off by 6:00am for the game drive. This early drive allows catching big cats and other early risers in action before they retreat to their hideouts. During the drive, you can expect to see various animals, including Lake Chad buffaloes, African elephants, Lelwel hartebeest, Nubian giraffes, and oribis, among other species. Common bird species you might encounter include the Goliath heron, African skimmer, and red-throated bee-eater.

After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch and some time to refresh.

Shortly after lunch, embark on a launch cruise along the Nile to the base of the falls. This water safari will allow you to observe pods of hippos and Nile crocodiles basking on the riverbanks and various bird species and other wildlife drinking at the shores. Depending on your level of fatigue, you can either head back to the lodge for relaxation or continue with a short game drive.

Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Kampala

Enjoy a delightful breakfast before driving to the Budongo Forest headquarters for a briefing. Afterward, you will transfer to the trekking point and begin your adventure. Once you encounter the chimpanzees, you will have one hour to observe their behaviors, watch them feed, and see the juveniles playfully jumping from branch to branch and interacting with one another. During the trek, you can also spot various colorful bird species. After the trek, have lunch before proceeding to Kampala.
