Itinerary

Arrival to Welcome Tanzania

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you are met by a representative and transferred to your accommodation near Arusha. Check-in begins in the afternoon, giving you time to rest and prepare for the adventure ahead. This first day sets the tone for your upcoming Tanzania Safari, allowing for relaxation after travel and a chance to meet your guide.

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your guide meets you and you depart for Tarangire National Park. By late morning you enter the park and begin a full-day game drive across its wide savannah and among iconic baobab trees. Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant herds and for being a haven for various savannah wildlife. Throughout the day you explore the park’s plains and riverine areas, looking for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes and, if you’re lucky, predators that roam the area. A boxed lunch is provided during the drive, and the afternoon safari continues before you leave the park and travel toward the Lake Manyara region for an overnight stop.

Lake Manyara National Park

On the second day you head to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its ecological diversity. The park’s mix of groundwater forest, lakeshore and escarpments provides habitat for a rich variety of species. During your safari you may encounter both forest and savannah animals, and if conditions are right, see flocks of flamingos or other water-birds along the lake’s shores. The contrast between forested slopes and open plains gives this day a distinct feel compared with Tarangire. After a full day of exploration, you move on toward the highlands, preparing for the crater visit.

Ngorongoro Crater

Departing early, you travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of wildlife viewing in one of the world’s most concentrated ecosystems; the crater floor’s lakes, marshes, grasslands and woodlands host dense populations of grazers and predators — elephants, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippos and lions are frequently seen, and with luck you may spot rarer species — lunch is taken in the crater before continued afternoon game viewing.

Enter the Serengeti & first game drives

After ascending from the crater, you continue toward the Serengeti where you begin your Serengeti game drives; the horizon opens into vast plains and kopjes, and your first day in the park introduces classic scenes of grazing herds, giraffes, and the resident predators that make the Serengeti legendary.

Full day in the Serengeti

You spend a full day exploring further into the Serengeti’s wildlife zones, searching for big cats, diverse herbivores and, seasonally, migration movements; with long daylight hours dedicated to game drives, you can expect varied sightings across riverine strips, kopjes and open grassland as the Serengeti reveals its rich ecosystems.

Final Serengeti Morning Drive

After a last early-morning game drive in the Serengeti you begin the return trip toward Arusha and onward to the airport for departure, concluding your Tanzania Globe Tour with memories of baobab forests, lakeshore birdlife, crater wildlife and sweeping Serengeti plains.

Departure

After breakfast on the final morning, you are transferred back toward Arusha and onward to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure flight. Your 6-day Tanzania Safari — part of the Tanzania Globe Tour — concludes, leaving you with memories of varied ecosystems, close wildlife encounters, and the wild heart of Tanzania.
