Itinerary

Arrival in Tanzania & Welcome

Arrives at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where a representative meets you and transfers you to accommodation in the Arusha area. Check-in starts in the afternoon and the rest of the day is reserved for rest and preparation before the safari begins.

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast (the guide typically meets you around 7:30 AM), you depart for Tarangire National Park and begin your game drive around 10:00 AM. Tarangire’s landscape of open plains and monumental baobab trees is famed for its large elephant population and regular gatherings of wildlife near the Tarangire River; during your full-day drive you search for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo and other savannah species. Lunch is provided as a packed/boxed meal during the drive, and the afternoon continues with more game driving before you transfer onward toward the Ngorongoro area in preparation for the next day.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area & Crater

To maximize sightings you depart early, often with breakfast packed, and drive to the Ngorongoro highlands; around 7:00 AM you enter and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater floor’s mosaic of lakes, marshes, grasslands and woodlands supports an exceptional concentration of animals. During your full day inside the caldera you may see buffalo, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and predators — and, for the luckiest guests, possibly a rhinoceros. Lunch is taken lakeside or near a water source, and after further afternoon viewing you begin the return toward Arusha. This intense wildlife day is one of the most reliable highlights any Tanzania Safari can offer.

Lunch is served at a scenic spot inside the crater, allowing time to reflect on the day’s encounters. After a few more hours of wildlife viewing, you ascend from the crater and head back toward Arusha, arriving in the evening for a relaxing night after a full day of safari adventure.

Departure – Reflecting on Your Tanzania Safari Journey

After breakfast the following morning you are transferred back to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight, concluding the adventurous safari on the northern circuit of the Tanzania Globe Tour.
